This project is a re-design of the artwork for 'Shadowboxer', the 2019 debut album from Australian alternative/ electronic band Mansionair.
I used a combination of digital and physical mediums to create the artwork, as a representation of the sonic collaboration between acoustic and synthetic instrumentation on the album.
The back cover is a composite of a marbled paint artwork I created - photographs were taken during various paint-drying stages to capture a variety of textures.
Meanwhile, the front cover of the vinyl was made using a combination of Photoshop and Illustrator. The imagery of the artwork is an interpretation of the album listening experience. More specifically, the sharp transition between the intro track 'EST.' and Track 2 'Alibi' is represented by the swimmer smashing through the glass barrier on the spine, into a space void.
